AudioThing released Texture (€19 value), a granular reverb effect in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats. The plugin is free to download until December 31st, 2020.
Texture is a freeware granular reverb plugin with pitch shifting and mid/side functionality. AudioThing explains that Texture can “transform any sound into an ambient soundscape.”
The plugin features a mix knob, a balance control, and a pitch control knob. The balance knob controls the balance between granular processing and reverb. The pitch knob controls the pitch for the granular algorithm.
The user interface also features a Diffusion button, which increases the size and feedback parameters for both effects (granular and reverb). Finally, the Mid/Side button enables or disables the mid-side processing mode. Use it to apply the granular effect only to the side channel of the input signal.

We’re already used to seeing modern-looking GUI designs from AudioThing, and Texture follows the same design language. The plugin looks great, and the interface is freely resizable, ensuring compatibility with all screen sizes.
Texture is also the first release in AudioThing’s new Things product lineup. According to AudioThing, this will become a series of creative VST plugins for sound designers. Things will cover a range of audio effects for audio mangling and creating exciting new sounds.
